Inner Party System

Check out this excellent audio & video remix we did for Inner Party System:::

The remix is a sick (literally) media overloaded onslaught of a mix. The Inner Party System guys asked us to go ahead go nuts go ape-sh*t.... so we did. They liked it so much it's coming out as an audio only mix for djs next month as well. Also Mediatronica built a online video remix sampler out of the video samples and riffs we used to construct the mix and you can play/jam jam with that yourself here....

U-God

Yesterday U-God of the Wu Tang Clan came to my place with my mate Darek to film an interview about Eclectic Method for the brand new crossfader site. The crossfader site is being relaunched and luckily they took down my last videos in which I mastered the art of looking like a twazuk on camera. U-God was great and well into it, my favourite quote of the day being, "This blew my motherfucking head off!! I've never seen nothing like this... this is some NEW SHIT!!! Kids is gonna love this..." He asked us to do some remixes, possible work on tracks together, exchanged details and departed. I then went to spend time with Sascha (aka Sport Casual) who is my favorite dj at the moment, check out this killer latin mix from him. This saturday me and Abe are doing live AV jamming at the Lucky Cat and Sascha is going to be playing with us as well.

EM on Solid Steel

Eclectic Method DJ mix on SOLID STEEL this week. A sneeky download of it available here. It's our second time on the show, I have been a fan of Solid Steel since I was a kid so it's always something like giddy excitement for me when the Ninja's ask us to make a mix. The mix has a definite more global/leftfield flavor then our usual dancefloor kicking mixes, should be streaming on their site all this week. Solid Steel has been around for ever, it started out as Coldcut's regular show on KISS FM then expanded to include members of DJ Food, Darren (DK) and others. They also started syndicating the show to stations around the world about a decade ago. Anyone who has heard Coldcut's Journeys by DJs (JDJ) will know the killer eclectic mixing styles that Solid Steel contains. Liam Howlett (The Prodigy) stated it as his number one influence for doing his astonishingly good Dirtchamber Sessions Vol 1 mix.

Little Big Beef

We've recently been working on levels, remixes and some development ideas for the new PS3 game Little Big Planet. The game is sick fun and has the most important ingredient for a game that is going to be huge, girls love it! We also recently spent time with Quincy Jones III of QD3 in LA who is working with our friends Tim & Raphi on some video orientated projects. We took QD3's Beef series, a bunch of documentaries about hip hop beefs. Check out the first Eclectic Method BEEF mix centered around KRS ONE and the South Bronx. The south south Bronx!
I am locked away in Brooklyn with a pile of drives, Ian is doing much of the same in LA and Geoff in London. I am doing another video jam band thing with Abe at the end of the month at the Lucky Cat in Brooklyn and then Fashion Week gig here in NYC and Geoff and Ian will be playing 2 or 3 times at BESTIVAL. So much remix work in production at the moment , brand new zeitghost, motown mixes, tv show , convention specials.

Californication

Last weekend me and JB went to San Francisco where we played the excellent Bootie party at the DNA Lounge. We stayed with our mate Dan of TicketFly and even got a day to chill and drive over the golden gate bridge and go check the beautiful surroundings. Then we came to LA and Ian flew out to join us after his weekend of gigs in the UK at Global Gathering and Secret Garden Party Festivals with Geoff. Apparently Secret Garden was excellent fun and they played a tent where everyone wore headphones to the set. Monday we went to the Key Club to see Metal School, oh my god, it was ace.... Like the Cuban Brothers of Rock... Seriously funny i actually haven't laughed out loud that hard since seeing the Cuban's at our MITU night in NYC. Girls obligingly strip as a regular part of the show, every Monday night at the Key Club. Tuesday we were at the Edison which was a sweet venue, an old LA power station. Last night we played right before Lil John & T Pain at the Oakley party at the Key Club on Sunset, which was sick. Now we are chilling at our friend Nick's house in the hills. Been making an approximate video diary of our time in Cali, will pop it up sometime.
